IMPORTANCE OF CHEMICALS IN FOOD
Actually speaking, natural food substances are various forms of chemicals. For e.g., rice is a carbohydrate. Fruits contain carbohydrates and acids like citric acid. Vegetables contain proteins (amino acid blocks) and vitamins. Besides these, chemicals are also used as preservatives for canned or bottled food items to increase their shelf life.
